Maria was previously the Technical and Government Engagement lead for the DHS S&T Cybersecurity Division’s Identity and Privacy Research Program while at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, and has almost two decades of experience in leading cutting-edge cybersecurity and engineering programs. Maria has a BS in Computer Science from UMBC and an MS in Cybersecurity from Johns Hopkins.

Brian Dykstra

Brian Dykstra is the CEO of Atlantic Data Forensics, Inc., an internationally recognized company handling hundreds of forensic investigations and data breaches each year for clients in the US, Asia and the Middle East.

Mr. Dykstra has over 25 years’ experience in investigations, computer forensics, incident response, and secure network architecture. Prior to Atlantic Data Forensics, Mr. Dykstra was a co-founder of global computer security giant Mandiant. Brian regularly testifies as a computer forensics expert in US Federal and State court cases ranging from intellectual property theft to murder. Mr. Dykstra is a regular speaker at events such as Black Hat USA, DefCon, DMV Cybersecurity Symposium as well as dozens of other cybersecurity conferences each year. For 6 years, Brian was a contract computer crime investigations instructor teaching at the FBI Academy at Quantico, VA, FBI Regional Computer Forensics Labs (RCFL) and many FBI field offices. Mr. Dykstra is a weekly computer forensics and incident response instructor for the cybersecurity training site Cybrary and regular contributor to several cybersecurity podcasts.

Mr. Dykstra holds Master of Science in Information Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. He has also earned and maintains several certifications to include the Certified Cyber Forensics Professional (CCFP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Information Systems Security Management Professional (CISSP-ISSMP), Information Systems Security Architecture Professional (CISSP-ISSAP), and Certified Information Forensics Investigator (CIFI).

Eric leads sales efforts that supports clients globally to strategically meet security goals and implement a proactive cybersecurity approach. Fun fact, Eric is a Carroll county native, an avid golfer and has been a master club fitter for over a decade, representing some of the largest golf brands in the world.

Justin Smith is a USMC combat veteran and cybersecurity professional with over a decade in the trenches. Working on engagements ranging from tool integration, incident response, live blue team response, and global network architecture and hardening, Justin has focused primarily on the critical infrastructure, defense, and intelligence sectors.

As a life-long resident of the Eastern Shore of Maryland, Justin has also worked with agriculture-based businesses and professionals on projects ranging from WiFi-enabled farms and architecture of farm-to-farm network internet connectivity. Through these projects, he has seen firsthand the gaps and vulnerabilities left behind by both vendors and installers of interconnected, IoT-based agricultural systems.

Regardless of the specific technologies included, Colin strives to communicate his solutions & designs in a clear & comprehensible way, free of the jargon and alphabet-soup acronyms that can make the IT industry inaccessible for most of the population.

Colin recently started his own business, Sentinel Forge Technologies, to focus his efforts on combating the ever-increasing threat of Ransomware and Cyberattacks on critical US infrastructure. He believes that protecting America’s food supply is of utmost importance and that securing it will mean protecting every link in the agriculture supply chain, both large & small.

Alex Boakye

Alex Boakye is the Vice President of SAS’ Solutions Factory in R&D and oversees the development, delivery, and support of new analytic solutions for SAS customers and internal stakeholders. Prior to this role, he led the software development and strategy for SAS’ cybersecurity business, driving solutions that elevate security outcomes through trusted security analytics.

Prior to joining SAS in 2014, Boakye served as Director of Software Engineering at ADG Creative where he led a team of software engineers, developers and solutions architects in the conception and delivery of more than 20 software solutions, primarily in the intelligence space.

Boakye has spent over 16 years building innovative technical solutions to solve practical problems, holding roles in software development, consulting, and technology leadership at Booz Allen Hamilton, where he supported intelligence agencies, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, National Institutes of Health, and other organizations. Throughout his career, Boakye has been recognized as an extraordinary leader with an innovative mindset and breadth of technical knowledge.

Boakye has a BA in Public Health Studies from Johns Hopkins University. He also serves as the executive sponsor of SAS’ Black Initiatives Group (BIG).
